Claddagh Credit Union is to continue its sponsorship of the Galway Hospice Memorial Walk, taking place on Sunday, September 13.
The Galway Memorial Walk in aid of Galway Hospice has brought people together for over 20 years, giving families and friends an opportunity to remember and celebrate loved ones while raising vital funds for Galway Hospice.
The 6.5km walk will begin at The Claddagh Hall at 12 noon, taking participants along the Salthill Prom and back to The Claddagh. Many participants wear personalised t-shirts bearing the names of loved ones they are remembering. Everyone is welcome to take part in the walk, whether walking in memory of someone special, supporting a loved one, or simply joining others for a walk on The Prom.
Following the walk, there will be live music, children’s entertainment and refreshments at The Claddagh Hall.
“Claddagh Credit Union is delighted to continue our support of the Galway Memorial Walk,” said Lisa Stewart, Claddagh Credit Union Business Development Officer. “It is a very special event for the Galway community, bringing people together to remember those who are no longer with us while supporting the incredible care provided by Galway Hospice. We are proud to play our part in helping this important work.”
“Funds raised through the Galway Memorial Walk make a real and lasting difference to the patients and families in our care, enabling us to provide the highest possible standard of support,” explained Mary Nash, Galway Hospice Chief Executive. “We are sincerely grateful to Claddagh Credit Union for their continued generosity and support, helping to make this special event possible for our community.”
