Fahy Travel Worldchoice will host its second annual Touring & River Cruise Event in Galway at the end of August, bringing together some of their leading touring and river cruise specialists under one roof.
Following the success of last year's event, the showcase has been expanded to include a wider selection of river cruise operators, reflecting the growing demand from Irish holidaymakers for more immersive and experience-led travel.
According to Maura Fahy, Managing Director of Fahy Travel Ltd, the touring holiday market has evolved significantly in recent years.
"We have seen a remarkable increase in the variety of touring holidays now available," she said. "From solo travel and special-interest tours to adventure holidays, there are now itineraries that allow people to discover destinations they may never have considered travelling to independently”
She added that today's travellers are looking for more authentic and discerning experiences while on holiday. Destinations such as Puglia, Sardinia, Madeira and Austria have become firm favourites, offering everything from traditional sightseeing to more active holiday options.
River cruising has also experienced exceptional growth in the Irish market. "Many of our clients have already enjoyed ocean cruises and escorted tours and are now looking for something different," Ms Fahy said. "River cruising offers a more relaxed, immersive way to explore Europe, with guests sailing through the heart of historic cities and picturesque countryside aboard elegant four and five-star boutique-style vessels."
Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to meet travel experts, learn about the latest touring and river cruise holidays, and receive first-hand advice on planning their next adventure.
