Employees from one of Galway’s leading medical device employers, Boston Scientific once again took on the Peak2Peak Challenge in support of their charity partner, the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI ), which involved climbing Crough Patrick in Mayo before traveling to Connemara to take on Diamond Hill all in one day.
Over 200 employees took part creating a trail of PINK across both landmarks over the course of the day. The event brought together staff from all over the Boston Scientific Galway campus in a major show of support for breast cancer research raising an incredible, €70,000 for the charity. Each of the participants committed to raising a minimum of €200 with many far exceeding that target.
This is the second year of Boston Scientific’s Charity Partnership with NBCRI with all proceeds raised over that period going towards supporting the breast cancer research team based at The Lambe Institute, University of Galway. A national charity, NBCRI is dedicated to funding and supporting breast cancer research that improves the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer to help give better outcomes and quality of life for people affected. Through the generosity of donors, fundraisers and supporters across Ireland.
NBCRI continues to invest in innovative research that brings hope to patients today and for future generations making Boston Scientific’s support of the charity and its work so important in driving its research forward.
