Galway writer Maureen Gallagher has been awarded first prize in the Leyney Writers 2009 Short Story Competition.
She has also been shortlisted for the Jonathan Swift Poetry Competition and the Yeats Poetry Competition.
Maureen’s first collection of poetry, Calling The Tune, published recently by WordsontheStreet, is available in Charlie Byrne’s bookshop and other outlets.
