With The Saw Doctors enjoying a Top Five hit with ‘She Loves Me’, RTÉ 1 will broadcast a documentary on the band, Clare Island To Cape Cod, this Saturday at 11.10pm.
The documentary, directed by Steve Lock, was made last year to mark the Tuam band’s 20th anniversary. In 1988, Mike Scott of The Waterboys discovered The Saw Doctors in the back room of The Quays and produced the band’s first single ‘N17’.
Clare Island to Cape Cod features The Docs in concert at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Massachusetts with 2,000 American fans singing to ‘Green and Red of Mayo’, ‘Hay Wrap’ and, ‘Joyce Country Ceili Band’.
