A Tuam man who is charged with assaulting a female Garda and giving her a bloody nose and a split lip is to be sent forward to the Circuit Criminal Court for his case to be heard.

When the case was called at Tuam District Court Judge James Faughnan asked for a synopsis of the charges to be outlined for him to decide if he would hear the case or if it should be sent to a higher court.
