For over three decades, Platform94 has been part of Galway's business fabric. What began 32 years ago in response to a crisis has evolved into an international centre of excellence for scaling businesses.

2025 marked the strongest year on record for Platform94, a defining year that reflected both the organisation's resilience and the growing strength of the regional ecosystem it supports.

From its 66,000 sq ft headquarters in Galway, Platform94 now supports 110 businesses on site, more than 700 people, and over 50 virtual companies, and operates at a 95 per cent occupancy level. The organisation’s estimated economic impact now exceeds over €500 million per annum.

That performance was underpinned by its strongest commercial year, which saw a 16 per cent increase in revenue, 40 per cent EBITDA growth and a 30 per cent increase in reserves, positioning Platform94 for continued reinvestment in the coming years.

Over the past year, the organisation has continued to invest in its headquarters, deliver new collaborative spaces, expand its meeting room capacity and strengthen the support available to the companies based there. But the story of Platform94 is no longer just about a building.

Alongside its Galway campus, SCALE by Platform94 has become a major growth platform for ambitious indigenous businesses across the West and North West.

Launched in partnership with Enterprise Ireland, the community now supports almost 100 scaling companies, employing 2,500 people and generating combined revenues of more than €350 million. 90 per cent of those companies are already trading internationally.

Its impact is further strengthened by a growing network of strategic partnerships, including its role as a regional partner for the Skillnet Innovation Exchange in the West and North West, which connects ambitious SMEs with larger businesses and new commercial opportunities.

Platform94’s evolution reflects broader changes across the ecosystem. The region is no longer simply producing promising start-ups; it is home to companies with world-leading talent and a strong ambition to scale globally, underpinned by a collaborative regional ecosystem of support.

As Platform94 looks ahead, its focus remains on reinvesting in the people, places, and partnerships that enable scaling businesses to thrive; and on strengthening its role as a solid regional core for ambitious companies growing from the West to the world.
