Well-known Irish podcaster Alan Clarke has once again demonstrated the power of community and social media, hosting a series of successful fundraising initiatives during his Big News Coming Soon live podcast weekend.

The event, which took place at Knightsbrook Hotel, brought together fans and supporters from across the country for a weekend of live recordings, entertainment, and meaningful fundraising, all in aid of Galway Hospice.

Alan organised the fundraiser in support of the hospice, where his close friend Liz Kavanagh has been receiving care in recent weeks. Liz’s story has resonated deeply with many, as she has openly shared her journey on social media, offering a powerful and honest insight into her experience.

With a loyal and engaged following of over 240,000 people on Instagram, Alan has consistently used his platform for good, raising almost €70,000 for charitable causes over the past number of years. This latest initiative is a continuation of that commitment, with funds from the weekend going directly towards supporting the essential services provided by Galway Hospice.

Adding a personal layer to the story, Liz recently married Kieran O Malley in a beautiful and intimate ceremony at HYDE Bar, a moment that has touched many who have followed her journey.Speaking about the fundraiser, Alan expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support:

“The response over the weekend was incredible. It just shows what can happen when people come together for something that really matters. Galway Hospice do unbelievable work, and I’m honoured to be able to support them in some small way.”

Galway Hospice provides specialist palliative care services to patients and families across Galway and the surrounding areas, offering compassion, dignity, and support during some of life’s most difficult moments. Fundraisers such as this play a crucial role in ensuring that these services can continue.

The success of the Big News Coming Soon weekend highlights not only the strength of Alan Clarke’s community, but also the impact that collective goodwill can have when it is channelled towards a meaningful cause.
