Four travel journalists from Germany, representing various print and online publications, have been exploring Galway and Ireland and our superb culinary offering, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
The journalists – who have a combined reach of around 3.9 million people across Germany – have been following a bespoke itinerary with a strong emphasis on our superb food and drink offering.
They flew directly from Frankfurt to Shannon on the newly launched Discover Airlines flight, highlighting the ease of access to the West of Ireland for German holidaymakers.
The group’s action-packed itinerary included a guided coastal walk and tasting tour with Mungo Murphy’s Seaweed Co. at Galway Bay, a cookery class at Aniar Cookery School, a private tour at Micil Distillery and a visit to Brigit's Garden.
Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for DACH countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland ), said Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite this group of German travel journalists to visit Galway and Ireland, to experience superb local produce and culinary experiences at first-hand.
"The articles and content these journalists will produce and share will inspire holidaymakers in Germany to come and discover Ireland for themselves.”
