Escape the ordinary with Wet Mongrel Adventures

Discover a one-of-a-kind experience with Wet Mongrel Adventures, which offers you a wood-fired sauna and/or Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP ) experience in some of the most scenic seaside locations on Kinvara Bay and the Burren coast.

Step into ‘Sweat Mongrel’ where the craic is 90…degrees and above! Wet Mongrel Adventures have been steaming along the Burren coastline and in Kinvara Bay since 2023. Made from Irish Alder, a wood ideal for saunas.

It has been thoughtfully handcrafted in its rustic, relaxed charm, providing the perfect place to unwind and meet like-minded folk. Operating from a range of pop-up coastal locations, Sweat Mongrel provides easy, safe access to the sea, plunge pools, or outdoor showers, where you can experience the invigorating, refreshing contrast of sauna heat and cold immersion.

Feeling like some more active fun, then join us for a Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP ) session. With more than 25 years’ experience working with youth, Ian creates a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for all ages.

Suitable for beginners through to experienced paddlers, sessions will be curated to your wants and abilities, from the more challenging open ocean trip to Island Eddy or the serene sunrise paddles by the seal colonies, there’s something for everyone.

For those looking to make the most of their visit, combining SUP and sauna is a must, with optional extras such as curated music and outdoor cooking, creating a relaxed, social atmosphere by the water’s edge.

Wet Mongrel is also proudly dog-friendly, with two founding dog members on the team. We offer a truly unique experience where your four-legged companion can join the adventure and make unforgettable memories on the water together.

If it is a family day out, a group gathering, a lone wellness escape, or something a little different, Wet Mongrel brings adventure, relaxation and connection with nature together in one unforgettable package.
