Kinvara is gearing up for the return of Fleadh na gCuach 2026, a much-loved celebration of traditional music and community arts taking place over the May Bank Holiday Weekend. This year’s programme is packed, with over 120 musicians and artists performing across the village, including well-known names such as Alan Kelly, Mary Bergin, Brendan O’Regan, John Faulkner, and Eimer Casey, to name but a few.
Getting here is easier than ever, with regular daily bus services from Galway and Ennis; see Bus Éireann for details.
The Courthouse sessions
Back after a hugely successful debut, The Courthouse returns as an intimate hub for gigs and workshops. Highlights include a special teen trad session hosted by Mary Shannon and Tony Trundle, alongside performances from Steo Wall, Ben MacCaoilte, David Hope and The Well Below. Expect close-up, unforgettable music—booking is essential.
Take It Easy sessions and workshops
The popular “Take It Easy” sessions are back at The Merriman, offering relaxed tunes for those who prefer a gentler pace. The venue also hosts a free Creative Music Making workshop for all ages, with instruments provided.
Fun for all the family
From giant bubble magic with Little Top to puppetry, weaving, art workshops and more, there’s plenty for younger audiences. Don’t miss the Cuckoo Fun Run on Monday, a joyful highlight of the weekend.
Spotlight on Young Talent Livefeed by Music Generation Galway offers teens a hands-on experience in performance and production, culminating in a free live concert. To take part in the workshop, email [email protected]. Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance.
With something for everyone, Fleadh na gCuach 2026 promises a vibrant weekend of music, creativity and community.
The Fleadh Committee extends heartfelt thanks to all of their volunteers, sponsors, and Galway County Council for their kind support in making the festival possible.
