Galway Hooker launches '20 Bars, 20 Years' video series to mark milestone anniversary

Galway’s iconic craft beer brand, Galway Hooker, has announced the launch of a new video series, 20 Bars, 20 Years, as part of its celebrations to mark two decades in business.

The series will spotlight 20 pubs that have played a key role in Galway Hooker’s journey over the past 20 years, highlighting not only the relationships built along the way but also the vibrant and diverse pub culture that makes Galway so unique.

Kicking off the series is Monroe's Tavern, a much-loved venue in the West End and one of the first bars to serve Galway Hooker. In the opening episode, viewers are invited behind the scenes as the team sits down with Gary Monroe to discuss the pub’s rich history, its unmistakable character, and the atmosphere that continues to draw locals, musicians, and visitors from around the world.

Speaking about the series, Galway Hooker managing director Michael Fitzgerald said it is a celebration not just of the brand, but of the people and places that have supported it from the very beginning. The aim is to capture authentic stories from behind the bar, showcasing the spirit of Galway’s hospitality scene and the deep connection between the brewery and the pubs that pour its beer.

Following the launch episode, the series will continue in the coming weeks with features on some of Galway’s most recognisable and beloved venues, including The King's Head, An Púcán, and M. Fitzgerald’s Bar, among many others.

Each episode will offer a unique insight into the personality of each pub, the people behind it, and the role it has played in shaping Galway Hooker’s story over the past 20 years.

With its blend of storytelling, community spirit, and celebration of Galway’s rich pub culture, 20 Bars, 20 Years promises to be a fitting tribute to a brand that has become synonymous with the city itself.

The series will be released across Galway Hooker’s digital channels over the coming weeks.
