RE/MAX Premier Properties super auction which is to be held in the Menlo Park Hotel on Friday September 26 at 3pm is fast approaching and there a number of good value properties on offer on the day.
Several apartments and houses are for sale in Galway city and county, with some guiding as low as €155,000 for a four bedroom semidetached property in Tuam.
There is also exceptional value to be had in Renmore – a fine three bed mid terraced residence is guiding only €245,000. Similar properties are guiding €285,000.
According to Michelle Burke there is interest in the properties that are for sale but the fact that the Government announced an early budget in October might affect the day. She also states that there is higher interest in the properties with a five mile radius of the city. “We had a choice, buyers are out there but they are reluctant to put offers on the properties as they are waiting for other buyers to come forward first, so we could have let that scenario drag out interminably or have all buyers come together on the day” she said. This is a new concept in Ireland but is standard practice in the UK and it is only a matter of time before it becomes the norm in Ireland.
For example a 3.9 acre site in Ardrahan with full planning permission for a house it was on the market for €320,000 and this has now been reduced to €200,000. A residence in Tynagh has been reduced from €395,000 to €298,000. An apartment in Bohermore has dropped from €285,000 to €250,000 A 2,000sq ft residence in Menlough which is just outside Monivea has dropped by €40,000.
