Titans BC travel to the National Basketball Arena this Saturday with their sights firmly set on Division One silverware and a place among Ireland's basketball elite.

Titans take on Limerick Sports Eagles at basketball HQ on Saturday night in what promises to be a thrilling encounter. The Galway side have defied the odds this campaign and find themselves on an incredible winning streak.

The underdog tag seems to suit Titans, and Saturday will be no different. It is a challenge that the coach of the month for March, Erin Bracken, will relish. Knockout sport is all about peaking at the right time. It looks like Titans could not have timed their surge in form any better.

They will need big performances across the roster, particularly from their their heavy hitters. Umar Rachid and Fortune Igbokwe may feel they have a point to prove having lost out to Alex Carlisle for the March player-of-the-month.

Carlisle is no doubt the danger man and will need to be marshalled well. But Titans' strength lies in their balance across the court and the ability to share the scoring load.

That ability means Titans have scoring weapons coming from everywhere. In the play-off semi-final against local rivals Maree, Rachid was the standout performer, putting up 23 points and getting 13 rebounds. But Declan Gbinigie (16 ) and Fortune Igbokwe (14 ) scored a combined 30 points, while Joseph Coughlan also hit double digits with 10 points. Matthew Sweeney added six points, with Nathan Gbinigie (4 ) and Ben Kelly (2 ) also contributing. Such scoring variety makes Titans a very difficult team to pin down.

Nothing to lose but everything to gain. A potential landmark occasion for Titans Basketball Club awaits. No doubt the Titans' faithful will travel in numbers and in good voice.

A team with winning momentum is a dangerous opponent. Titans will need yet another stellar collective effort if they are to get their hands on the Division One trophy this Saturday night.

Tip-off at the National Basketball Arena in Dublin is 8.15pm on Saturday, April 11.
