Mannequin lost the head at Christmas market

A man who stole the head of a mannequin at the Galway Christmas Market smashed it on the ground when he was challenged by the stall holder.

This was the scenario outlined to Judge Valerie Corcoran at Galway District Court when Karl Healy, c/o Cope Galway appeared before her on charges arising out of the incident. A balaclava on the mannequin head and a flag valued at €50 were also damaged in the incident. The head was valued at €20.

Healy was also charged with assault causing harm to a member of the security staff at the Leonardo Hotel. The security man fractured his right little finger while ejecting Healy from the premises.

The defendant is in custody on other matters and his case was adjourned until the March 23 sitting of the Court.
