GRETB Further Education and Training Open Day is a friendly and welcoming event for anyone interested in learning. GRETB Further Education and Training supports over 25,000 learners at more than 40 centres across the region.
Whether you are leaving school, a parent, an adult wanting to learn new things or return to education, learn English (ESOL ), looking for a job, looking to upskill, or an employer, this free event is for you. Join us on the day to discover how GRETB offers accessible, flexible and supportive learning opportunities in Galway and Roscommon.
If you are interested in any of the programmes or courses - whether that is full-time or part-time courses, Post Leaving Certificate (PLC ) options, Tertiary Programmes, adult literacy, outdoor education, apprenticeships, traineeships, ESOL, and Youth and Arts - you will be able to find out everything you need to know on the day. The Open Day also welcomes employers who want to support workforce development, with expert advice available on relevant services. Their programmes are designed to be affordable and practical, ensuring education is open to all.
Throughout the event, you can speak directly with learners, staff, and local employers at interactive stands, attend the main stage panel discussions, and enjoy hands-on demonstrations. The morning and early afternoon will focus on opportunities for school leavers.
From the afternoon onwards, they encourage parents, employers and individuals returning to work, looking to upskill or simply curious about new opportunities to attend. There will also be a sensory hour, 3pm to 4pm, offering a relaxed environment for those who need it, plus the chance to meet the GRETB Recruitment team who can provide you with more information about careers at GRETB.
The main stage will host engaging panel discussions and speakers throughout the day and into the evening.
