The Galway-based choir is set to take group singing to another level as over 100 ordinary voices join forces to create an extraordinary sound at the Town Hall Theatre this February in a sell-out show.
Under the direction of Dr Caren Hession, the choir consists of members from all walks of life from Galway city and county come together for a twelve-week journey to find their voice, will perform three epic songs as part of the Born To Rise Showcase, taking place on Sunday, February 8, at 6.30pm.
Performing along with 32 solo acts, the group are set to bring an infectious energy and boastful sound to the stage, as they sing three big numbers with a full house band; all aimed to inspire and empower the audience to find their voice and unleash their inner potential.
“This has been such an incredible experience. Like many people here, I have never sung on stage before. Having an opportunity to be part of something as unique as this has given me such a boost of confidence, and I am really enjoying sharing it with so many wonderfully positive and supportive individuals,” a one singer said.
The live show at the Town Hall Theatre is the concluding event of a one-of-a-kind self-development programme called Born To Rise, which leads interested participants on a journey of finding themselves, and their voice, physically and metaphorically, through music.
“Music is such a powerful tool for growth and healing because it forces you to have a real-time relationship with yourself, something that’s so often missing in today’s society.
"It also is the glue that connects us all together and reminds us what true community spirit is all about," says Dr Hession.
