Ireland’s longest running comedy competition, Show Me The Funny, will return to the King’s Head Bar later this month to help banish those post-Christmas, January blues.
In association with Bulmers cider, for five consecutive Mondays, beginning Monday, January 26, ten comics from across Ireland will battle within Galway city’s High Street pub for a place at the all-Ireland grand final on Monday, March 2.
The overall winner will bag a slot at this year’s Electric Picnic Comedy Tent as well as two VIP weekend camping tickets for the already sold-out, annual music and arts extravaganza.
There are also a whole host of fantastic runner-up prizes, with slots at all the major festivals up for grabs.
Previous winners and finalists of SMTF have included the likes of Emma Doran, Bernard Casey, Martin Angolo, Alisson Spittle, Julie Jay, and Galway’s own Edie Mullarkey, amongst others.
Special guest act at the first heat is loveable Limerick rogue Karl Spain, and Gerry Mallon is the host and MC.
Tickets on the door are €5 each Monday, from 7.30pm, and a free pint of Bulmers is included. Main show at 8.30pm.
