September 7: Loughrea 2-22 – 3-23 Craughwell

Loughrea got stung by a Craughwell team meaning they could not guarantee a place in the county quarter-finals.

November 1: St Thomas’ 1-14 – 1-15 Loughrea – Final

Loughrea captured their fourth Galway SHC title when they retained their crown at Pearse Stadium against St Thomas’ in a final for the ages.

Loughrea did the heavy lifting in an impressive first half as they led by five-points going into the interval despite having played against the wind.

St Thomas’ had never lost a county final before going into the final at Pearse Stadium, and showed character to claw their way back to a two-point deficit with four minutes on the clock. However, Anthony Burns set up Darren Shaughnessy who scored a superb goal to extend his side’s lead to five points.

There was still time for a point and a cracking Conor Cooney goal to get the pulses racing again, but Loughrea hung on to retain their crown.

December 21: Loughrea 2-22 – 0-15 Slaughtneil – All-Ireland semi-final
