A German mother of six had a further eight-week sentence imposed on her for public order offences when she appeared once again at Galway District Court in front of Judge John King.
The judge was told that Nadine Falke, 13 St Jarlath’s Court, The Glebe, Tuam, had 72 previous convictions, 62 of which were for similar offences. On November 29 at Dominick Street Lower, she caused a disturbance outside a public house. The gardaí were called, and she was abusive and aggressive towards them and was arrested.
Falke was on temporary release from prison at the time. In November she had a one-month prison sentence imposed on her for urinating and spitting in a Garda van after her arrest for public drunkenness. In addition, she received a further two months for causing a disturbance at UHG the following day.
An earlier court heard that on September 16 she was found by Gardaí intoxicated at Eyre Square. She used foul and insulting language towards them and was arrested. While being transported in the Garda van, she urinated in the vehicle and spat and it had to be forensically cleansed afterwards at a cost of €181.60.
Judge King noted that she was on bail after getting temporary release from a two-month sentence imposed on November 10, and she offended yet again on November 29. He confirmed that the abuse directed at the gardaí was verbal and not physical, and refused bail on this charge because of her poor bench warrant history. Her previous sentences are to be reactivated and in addition she was sentenced to eight weeks to run consecutively.
