Thrilling finish to the year as O’Donnellan & Joyce auction closes 2025 with competitive bidding

O’Donnellan & Joyce brought its 2025 auction calendar to a close on Friday with a well-attended final sale that attracted 53 registered bidders from across Ireland and overseas. The hybrid format with activity online and by phone once again broadened participation and contributed to steady, competitive bidding throughout the afternoon.

While the catalogue spanned multiple counties, it was a property on the Beara Peninsula that produced the standout bidding war. Lot 2, the former Health Centre in Eyeries, Co Cork ignited extraordinary interest, attracting 23 individual bids before the hammer finally fell at €190,000. It reflects the continued demand for properties in strong coastal and village locations.

Galway was also well represented in the results. Lot 5 in Cregmore, Ardrahan a well-located three-bedroom bungalow on a one-acre site, sold for €340,000. With convenient access to the M18 and proximity to Ardrahan village, the home appealed to both local buyers and those relocating to the region.

Overall, the auction marked a positive conclusion to the year for the Galway-based firm, with solid engagement across all platforms and a notable mix of national and international interest. As 2025 draws to a close, O’Donnellan & Joyce reports continued confidence in the market heading into the new year, particularly for well-positioned residential and regional properties.
