Salthill’s own musical theatre star Aoife Mulholland returns to Galway next week alongside Britain's ‘king of swing’, vocalist Matt Ford, for A Swingin’ Little Christmas.

This is Big Band Christmas concert will be at Leisureland, next Friday, December 12, a 7:30pm.

Aoife and Matt teamed up with conductor Niall Kinsella and his orchestra in 2024 for the sold-out tour of The Sound of Hollywood, a glittering celebration the greatest MGM movie musicals. Now, this exciting duo comes to Galway for one night only.

A Swingin’ Little Christmas includes classics ranging from ‘White Christmas’ and ‘Santa Baby’ to ‘Winter Wonderland’ and ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ in fantastic arrangements as performed by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby and Eartha Kitt.

The concert also features The Niall Kinsella Orchestra, a dazzling 18-piece Big Band, and award-winning Irish barbershop quartet, 4 in a Bar.

Matt Ford is the Britain’s most experienced and in-demand Swing Era vocalist. A veteran of over 2,000 Big Band concerts, Forde has also performed regularly with the BBC Concert Orchestra, Halle, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Northern Sinfonia, Philharmonia, John Wilson Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Scottish Symphony, RTÉ Concert Orchestra and National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. He regularly performs at the BBC Proms broadcast from the Royal Albert Hall.

Tickets cost €25, with concessions €20, and a family ticket €80. Doors open at 6.30pm and seating is unreserved.
