Niamh Patten is a qualified Bio-Energy Therapist and the face of West Coast Bio-Energy. She trained with the Hidden Mind Institute, founded by Tom Griffin, one of three men who first introduced Bio-Energy therapy to Ireland more than 35 years ago.
Having suffered from M.E. / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in her teens to mid-twenties, Niamh has had her own struggles with ill-health. Still, her recovery taught her that the body and mind have an incredible innate capacity to heal and thrive. She is passionate about helping others tap into this superpower that we all possess, using Bio-Energy Therapy.
Niamh explains that we are energetic beings, and ‘Bio-Energy’ is the vital life force energy that flows through us and all living things. It is the energy that supports our physical health, energy and vitality, mental and emotional well-being and spiritual connection. When life-force energy is flowing freely, the body and mind will tend to optimum health. However, many factors create imbalance in our energy system: chronic stress, negative emotions, overload of work and responsibilities, negative relationships and environments, unbalanced diet, lack of exercise, etc. Imbalance in our energy system will eventually manifest as problems and symptoms in the body and mind.
Bio-Energy therapy is gentle and non-invasive, and clients often find it to be deeply relaxing. During a session, the therapist works to locate blockages and stagnant energy in the energetic body and, using a series of hand movements, helps to release these blockages. This restores balance in the energy system, which enables the body and mind to heal.
