Sinn Féin TD for Galway East, Louis O’Hara, has welcomed the opening of a public consultation on proposals regarding the 425A bus service from Mountbellew-Galway, the proposed Athenry-Tuam local link and bus services for Athenry.
Deputy O'Hara said, “This is welcome and comes about following concerns regarding the NTA’s proposal to re-route the 425A bus service through Athenry, particularly in relation to capacity constraints and that some people on the existing route would lose a direct link to Galway city.
“People along the existing 425A route and people in Athenry will have the opportunity to provide their feedback on these proposals directly to the NTA through this consultation, including any alternative solutions such as a standalone bus between Athenry and Galway city.
“I would encourage everyone locally to take part and have their say."
