Galway City Harriers Athletics Club, in association with Campion Insurance (part of the PIB Group ) are hosting their annual Resolution Run, on January 1, 2026.
The 5km race route passes most of the city’s famous landmarks through the historical city centre; from The Claddagh, passing Wolfe Tone Bridge, Merchants Road and the Docks, doubling back out to Grattan Road and The Salthill Promenade before a fast finish along South Park into the finish at Nimmo’s Pier.
Galway City Harriers hospitality and refreshments awaits at the finish line. The event will be organised by an expert crew of volunteers and marshals.
Age category prizes will be available and there is a souvenir Resolution Run bobble cap gift for all entrants.
Race HQ is at the Claddagh Hall, Nimmo’s Pier, Galway (H91 A6Y6 ). The race starts promptly at 10.15am on New Years Day.
The race is AAI certified and is open to everyone 16 years and older. Entry is available online at Resolution Run 5k 2026. Limited number of walk-up-on-day entries available.
