A celebration of Galway’s creative spirit returns this month as the much-loved Local Food and Craft Gift Fair opens its doors at the Black Box Theatre, this time, for an exciting six-day showcase of local talent, flavour, and craftsmanship.

Organised by Local Enterprise Office Galway and supported by Galway County and City Councils, the fair has become a highlight of the festive season, shining a spotlight on independent Galway makers, designers, and food producers.

What started in 2012 as a small weekend event has evolved into a county-wide celebration of creativity and community, drawing visitors eager to support local businesses and discover one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts.

This year’s fair runs from Thursday, November 27 to Tuesday, December 2, and will feature over 50 local exhibitors offering everything from handmade jewellery and homeware to artisan cheeses, preserves, and sweet treats, all crafted in Galway.

In an era of mass production and fast delivery, the Local Food and Craft Gift Fair presents a sustainable way to shop local, offering an inspiring alternative that allows you to shop sustainably, connect with local makers, and bring home unique gifts that tell a story.

Families are in for a treat too, as Barnardo the Magician returns with his much-loved balloon creations and live magic shows, adding sparkle and laughter to the weekend atmosphere. There’ll also be live music and a visit from Santa himself.

To make the fair more accessible than ever, a free bus service will be available throughout Galway County, enabling visitors to travel in comfort and ease. Entry is free, and there’s ample parking at the venue. This year’s charity partner is the Galway Sick Kids Foundation.
