Busy week of community events planned for Ballybane

Ballybane is set for a week of exciting and informative community events, with a focus on home energy efficiency, health awareness, and festive cooking. Organised by Donal Lynch in conjunction with the Ballybane Community Hub, the events aim to bring local residents together to learn, connect, and celebrate.

Meet the Expert – Making Your Home Warmer and Greener

The week begins with “Ballybane Meet the Expert” on Tuesday, November 18, from 7.00pm to 8.30pm at the SCCUL Enterprise Centre, Ballybane (H91 RH32 ).

Doors open at 6.30pm.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet solar providers, heat pump installers, insulation specialists, and window and door experts, as well as learn about grants and finance options for home improvements.

Free Health Check – No Appointment Needed

On Wednesday, November 19, residents are invited to a free health screening evening at the Ballybane Community Hub, 30 Béal Srutha (H91 TW27 ), starting at 7.30pm.

A registered general nurse specialist will be on hand to offer free blood pressure checks and blood glucose testing.

No appointment is necessary, and all are welcome.

Parking is available adjacent to Ballybane Library.

Festive Cookery Demonstration – The Aroma of Christmas

The week concludes with a Christmas cookery demonstration led by chef Maria McNeela on Thursday, November 20, at 7.00pm at the Ballybane Community Hub.

Maria will share tips and techniques for creating one of Ireland’s most cherished seasonal treats – the classic mince pie.

This event promises to fill the hub with the aroma of Christmas and plenty of festive cheer.

Parking is available beside Ballybane Library, and everyone is warmly invited to attend.
