How can you own energy resources, give a voice to the community about energy matters, and influence energy policy at all levels? Calling all residents of Galway City and County to attend an interactive workshop at the Portershed, Market Street, Galway, 26 November from 7:00 to 9:00 pm to work together on these challenges.
Energy is all around us as wind, sun, air, and water yet we have to pay ever increasing prices to large utility and fuel companies to use it. It is a natural resource that communities can own and benefit from. But, high capital costs and restrictive legislation are barriers to energy ownership and sharing.
The solution lies in the community working together to create innovative solutions, imminent changes in legislation, and a variety of grants available from the EU, national, and local agencies to create energy and make energy usage more efficient.
