Stile Antico's twelve members play fresh, vibrant and moving performances of Renaissance polyphony.

Stile Antico, one of the world’s most accomplished and innovative vocal ensembles, will perform at St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church, on Thursday, October 16, at 7.30pm.

Working without a conductor, Stile Antico's twelve members have played to audiences on all four continents with their fresh, vibrant and moving performances of Renaissance polyphony.

In this attractive and highly contrasted programme, Stile Antico selects one blockbuster piece from each of its sixteen award-winning albums to create a thrilling journey through some of the greatest music of the Renaissance.

Exuberant works by composers such as Byrd, Gibbons, Tomkins and Praetorius are paired with tranquil motets by Taverner, Clemens non Papa and Tallis, and the alluring sounds of Huw Watkins’ virtuosic The Phoenix and the Turtle, written especially for the group. Allegri’s timeless Miserere completes this mouth-watering programme.

Standard tickets are €30 with a concession for those over 66 at €27. Solidarity tickets are available at €15, and the Music for Galway Friend rate is €26.
