3 On The Bund

Modern trad band 3 On The Bund will perform at Monroe’s Live tomorrow, Friday, October 10, with doors opening at 7pm in the intimate surrounds of the Backstage venue.

Formed in 2019 at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick, 3 on the Bund brings together fiddle, pipes, guitar, keyboard, concertina, and vocals to create a sound shaped by the range of their musical backgrounds.

The band features Waterford fiddle player Rebecca McCarthy-Kent, an accomplished multi-instrumentalist and composer with titles including the Fiddler of Dooney and Bonn Óir Seán Ó Riada.

Donegal musician Susan Coleman contributes vocals and concertina, carrying forward a strong family tradition through the Harper and Coleman musical lineages.

Simon Pfisterer, from Bavaria, plays uilleann pipes, flute, and whistles, and has performed internationally with several projects.

Kerry’s Seán Kelliher performs on guitar and bodhrán, while Ella McGrory from Inishowen, Co Donegal, brings piano and fiddle to the group, drawing on her experience performing at festivals across Europe.

Since forming, 3 on the Bund have toured widely across Europe, the US, and Asia, appearing at events including the Rheingau Musik Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, and the Guinness Irish Christmas Tour of Austria.

Their debut album, Frenzy, was followed by a live album in 2024. A second studio album is planned for release in spring 2026.

Support on the night from The Bare Minimum.
