Pelvic Health West is marking two years of delivering expert pelvic health physiotherapy and Pilates at the Orantown Centre — and what a milestone year it has been.
In its second year, Pelvic Health West expanded its services with the launch of online Pilates programmes led by specialist pelvic health physiotherapist, Orlaith Kilgannon. With four tailored programmes now available at pelvichealthwest.ie, women can enjoy greater access and flexibility, all while focusing on pelvic floor health from the comfort of home.
Another standout initiative was the launch of The PHW Dry Run in May — a free monthly women’s running club in Renville Park. Rain or shine, this club has seen women go from the first day of the Couch to 5k to smashing 5km personal bests.
“I listened to the barriers that women faced with running including pelvic floor dysfunction and not knowing how or when to start,” says Orlaith Kilgannon. “The Dry Run is inclusive of all abilities of running and that includes novices. I’m on hand for any pelvic floor or running tips but it’s been a privilege to witness women coming together and supporting one another. It’s truly one of the most rewarding things we’ve done.”
You can stay updated with run dates and events by following Pelvic Health West on Instagram and Facebook.
Meanwhile, one-on-one pelvic health assessments and treatments continue to be at the core of the clinic. Orlaith Kilgannon’s evidence-based, personalised approach remains at the forefront, with advanced care in areas such as scar therapy, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, and more. Excitingly, new breast health services are set to launch in the coming weeks.
