‘I’ll lock you up, Judge warns man who breached court orders

A man who Loughrea Court heard had breached Court orders on four occasions in relation to family law matters was told when he pleaded for another chance from Judge Faughnan. that if he offended again he would get not bail from him for the rest of his life.

“I’ll lock you up,” the Judge warned him. Gardaí objected to bail as they feared further breaches of the restraint orders.

The father of five pleaded that he was a tradesman and had work in Cork starting immediately but he would miss this opportunity if he was in custody.

However, Judge Faughnan told him that his concern was that after four breaches of Court orders, if he let him out, he would simply do the same again.

The man said his parents had told him that he would be better off moving away from the Galway area. Agreeing to the request, on certain strict conditions, the Judge warned, “I’ll lock you up if you breach them.”
