Lelia Doolan Q&A in Gort

A new Women & Diversity Film Festival will take place in Gort Town Hall this Saturday, September 13.

The Gort Vibes Cinema Club is presenting a 'Filmathon' to celebrate stories by women, LGBTQ+ voices, migrants, and under-represented communities.

The schedule begins at 11 am with a shorts programme featuring five films, including About Being (Jill Beardsworth, Gort ), Over the Moon (Billy Buckley, Kai Donohue and Rory Fitzpatrick ), Mincéir (Teresa Lavina, Oranmore ), The Blow-in (Treasa O’Brien, Gort ), and Among Ourselves (Felicia Olusanya ).

At 2.30pm, the Brazilian feature Motel Destino will screen, followed at 5pm by Bernadette: Notes on a Political Journey from Ballinderreen’s Lelia Doolan. The festival concludes with a Q&A with Lelia Doolan from 7pm.
