Founded 18 months ago, Croí an Tí has firmly established itself as a trusted and compassionate homecare service for older people in Galway and Mayo.
Founded by Tricia Duffy and Eileen Kearns, the service goes beyond traditional care, offering hands-on assistance, housework, and companionship tailored to each individual’s needs. With no contracts or rigid structures, Croí an Tí provides in-home respite rather than a conventional carer service. Whether it’s a once-off visit or seven-day-a-week support, Tricia and Eileen adapt their care to suit each person, ensuring they can remain comfortable and independent in their own homes.
Their approach is simple, whatever a family would do, they can do it too. Both Tricia and Eileen bring extensive medical experience to their work. Tricia has spent nearly 30 years in the healthcare industry, primarily in University Hospital Galway, while Eileen’s background in caregiving stems from both professional and personal experience. They are trained to handle medical needs such as fitting and changing catheter and stoma bags, as well as colostomy care. Their expertise ensures that older people receive not just companionship but also professional medical assistance in the familiarity of their home environment.
“I aim to treat all my clients like how I would like my own father to be treated, to be given dignity, comfort and compassion,” said Tricia.
At the heart of Croí an Tí is a genuine desire to help. The two founders go above and beyond for their clients, providing comfort, dignity, and practical support in every aspect of daily life.
From household chores to personal care, their service is a lifeline to many older people and their families.
