Galway City will host this year’s National Services Day on Saturday, September 6, a day dedicated to honouring the men and women of Ireland’s Emergency and Voluntary Services.
The annual event, which always takes place on the first Saturday of September, brings together personnel from across the country to celebrate their vital work and connect with the communities they serve.
Event Schedule:
11:00 – 12:00: A Commemoration Ceremony will take place at Galway City Hall, marking the official start of the day’s events.
12:15: A Personnel Parade will depart from City Hall, travelling through Eyre Square, Shop Street, and Quay Street, before arriving at the Spanish Arch.
13:00 – 16:00: A Static Display of emergency and voluntary service vehicles and equipment will be open to the public, offering a close-up look at the tools and teams that serve the nation.
15:00: A thrilling water demonstration will be performed by the RNLI and Coast Guard, featuring a flyover by the new Coast Guard helicopter from the Valentia unit.
National Services Day is a unique opportunity for the public to engage with and show appreciation for the individuals who dedicate their lives to keeping others safe. All are welcome to attend this family-friendly event.
