Celebrate your new life together in the timeless Oranmore Lodge Hotel

With four decades of warm welcomes, unforgettable celebrations, and a reputation as a true 'home away from home' for both locals and visitors alike, The Oranmore Lodge continues to hold a special place in the heart of Oranmore.

Before it was a hotel, the striking building was the ancestral home of the prominent Blake-Butler family. Originally built in the 1870s, to this day, it retains much of its original charm, including the Blake-Butler family crest above the entrance. Throughout the years, what was once Thornpark House evolved from a grand country home to a gracious hotel, lovingly developed and repurposed by Brian and Mary O’Higgins.

Today, the hotel is flourishing, with modern amenities while still maintaining the original charm that blends Gothic, Georgian and Victorian architectural styles. As well as its historical architecture, the beauty of The Oranmore Lodge Hotel lies in its place within the community. It has grown into a place that has been trusted for generations to host life’s most special events.

For the past 40 years, it has been the setting for countless weddings, birthday celebrations, anniversaries, and milestone moments for the people of Oranmore and beyond. That ongoing trust and connection between the hotel and the locals speaks volumes about the warmth and welcome.

Today, the Oranmore Lodge Hotel is managed by general manager Padraig Nolan. Under his leadership, the hotel continues the long-held tradition of world-class Irish hospitality and a céad míle fáilte to old friends and new.

Whether you are visiting Galway on business, exploring the west or celebrating a special occasion with family and friends, the Oranmore Lodge Hotel offers everything you need for a memorable time.
