Denis Mockler will launch his fifth collection of self-published poetry at Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop on Middle Street next Thursday, August 28, at 6pm.
Also a song-writer and playwright, Mockler’s latest collection is titled ‘Is it safe to come out yet?’.
These poems record the thought of a member of the LGBTQ community on a journey of self-acceptance in Ireland, from the 1980s to the present.
Mockler was born in the west of Ireland, in 1972. He grew up on a family farm, and has written poetry since he was 17.
As a writer, his interests lie in spiritual, Christian and LGBTQ literature. He says his purpose in life is to use his faith and creativity to inspire as many people as possible to be happy, joyous and free.
‘Is it safe to come out yet?’ costs €10 from Charlie Byrne’s bookshop.
