Toyota leads July sales again

Toyota Ireland has once again cemented its position as Ireland's number one car brand for passenger vehicles for the fifth year running, according to the latest July 252 sales figures released by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI ), with a market share of 14.44 per cent.

Toyota maintains its status as Ireland’s number one car brand following the July 2025 sales period, during which it sold 3,868 passenger cars.

Five Toyota models featured in the top-15 for car sales for July 2025: the Yaris Cross, Corolla, RAV4, Toyota C-HR and Yaris Hybrid.

Toyota attributes its continued success to meeting customers’ sustainable demands with ongoing innovation and the electrification of popular models. July 252 sales saw a robust growth in electrified vehicle options across the entire Irish market. Electric sales across the country saw a sharp increase of over 57 per cent, securing an 18.34 per cent share in the market, with Toyota EV sales climbing by over 30 per cent from 2024.

Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV ) also saw a big increase of almost 55 per cent in the same period versus last year. Toyota saw a more than 71 per cent increase in its PHEV sales.

The all-new Toyota Land Cruiser, which only arrived on Irish roads in June, has seen unprecedented demand and topped the Light Commercial Vehicle sales for July with over 600 sold.

With an increased towing capacity up to 3.5 tonnes, a redesigned turbocharger, and an advanced eight-speed automatic transmission, the Land Cruiser has proved popular once again for those who tackle challenging terrains every day.
