TRYKA, a new Irish-owned hybrid fitness race league, is calling on the people of Galway to get TRYKA ready. Offering an inclusive and accessible alternative to global events like Hyrox, TRYKA’s debut event will take place at the RDS Simmonscourt, Dublin, on 11–12 October 2025, with final tickets now on sale.

Founded by entrepreneur Brian Lee, the creator of Freshly Chopped — TRYKA is designed to reshape the fitness event landscape by putting community, accessibility and Irish pride at its core.

TRYKA’s 12-month league season will run from October 2025 through October 2026, culminating in a season finale in the Algarve. Events will take place across Ireland and are open to all fitness levels, featuring multiple race formats for individuals, pairs, gym groups, and corporate teams.

Limited tickets for both affiliates and non-affiliates are live on TRYKA’s website, with individual entry priced at €110. There has already been strong affiliate interest in the west already.

We’re building a new community that welcomes everyone, whether you're just starting your fitness journey or you're a seasoned athlete,” said founder Brian Lee. “After competing in Hyrox events across Europe, I saw a real gap in the market here. Many people love the idea of hybrid fitness racing, but feel it’s out of reach — too intense, too exclusive or just not for them.

"TRYKA is designed to change that and bring fitness racing to the wider public. We wanted to build a league that puts community first — where everyday gym-goers, beginners and corporate teams can come together, challenge themselves and have fun in a supportive atmosphere. This is about more than just competition, it’s about building connections, boosting confidence and creating something positive across Ireland.”

TRYKA’s signature race format includes 8 x 800m runs paired with functional fitness challenges. For newcomers, the TRYKA 500 offers a shorter, beginner-friendly version with 500m runs and modified workouts — making participation less daunting and more welcoming. Through strategic partnerships with local gyms, clubs and corporate teams, TRYKA aims to foster community engagement and drive positive change both on and off the course.

To support participants in the lead-up to the October event, TRYKA is rolling out a series of community workout sessions and full TRYKA simulations in affiliate gyms across the country. These events are designed to help people experience the TRYKA format firsthand, meet others in their area preparing for the race, and get familiar with some of the movements and rules.

All events will feature TRYKA-style workouts, guidance from trained coaches, and updates on what participants can expect at the live race. In addition, all ticket-holders and affiliates will receive a free 12-week training plan, designed by TRYKA coaches, to help them build confidence and prepare for race day.
