Cry Before Dawn to lead a packed weekend at Monroe's Live

With seasoned performers to rising voices, this weekend at Monroe’s Live offers an exciting line-up of established acts and emerging artists, from Friday, August 1 to Sunday, August 3.

Acclaimed Wexford band, Cry Before Dawn, will take to the stage on Friday, August 1 at 8pm, marking the release of their new six-track EP Open Water.

This new collection from the much-loved band celebrates their signature guitar-driven rock and traditional instrumentation, with Uilleann pipes and whistles.

On Saturday, August 2, Monroe’s Live launches a new night dedicated to original Irish music.

A New Noise will feature performances from singer-songwriter Brad Heidi, indie-folk artist Dáwna, and contemporary folk band Jousca.

With a career that began busking on the streets of Galway, Brad Heidi has performed on the main stage at Electric Picnic, supported James Blunt, and his singles have charted in the Top 40.

Galway native Conor Fahy, known as Dáwna, brings an indie-folk-pop sound to the stage. Following the release of several singles, he is set to launch The Swallows EP in October.

Folk band Jousca complete the lineup for A New Noise, bringing with them modern songwriting and harmonies.

With new material and a debut EP on the way, the band is building momentum on the live music scene.

Also on Saturday night, Paul Watchorn will perform in Monroe’s Backstage venue. The banjo player, guitarist and vocalist has toured extensively in Ireland, the UK, and beyond.

He is rated as one of the best five-string banjo players in Ireland, and music runs in his family. This intimate show offers limited unreserved seating.
