Craic Sabbath to honour Ozzy at Monroe's Live

Limerick-based tribute band Craic Sabbath will bring their powerful homage to Black Sabbath to Monroe’s Live on Friday, August 8, with doors open at 9pm.

Formed in early 2015, Craic Sabbath is a seven-piece band made up of musicians from various metal outfits across the Limerick area.

Craic Sabbath offers more than just faithful renditions of Sabbath, and the recent passing of Ozzy Osbourne lends a deeper significance to their upcoming performance. Their show includes shifting line-ups mid-show. Guitarists swap out, keyboards weave in and out, and even a saxophone makes a guest appearance.

The result is a show that both honours and reinterprets the classic material, keeping it fresh for modern audiences.

As they prepare to take the stage at Monroe’s Live, Craic Sabbath will be playing not just for entertainment, but in tribute, marking the enduring influence of one of metal’s greatest.

Speaking ahead of the show, the band shared: “We cannot believe Ozzy has passed so soon after the final show. We have been lucky to have had 10 years playing his music and the privilege to catch him live. As sad as we are, we are planning to keep celebrating his legacy and keeping his music alive the best way we know how.”
