Lend a hand, so Galway Samaritans can lend an ear

On August 2, Galway Samaritans will be having a city centre street collection. Fundraising is the lifeblood of its volunteer led force and it would encourage everyone to get out and show support.

They will have collection points throughout the city from 12-6pm on the day.

“Our vision is that fewer people die by suicide. We’re here every day and night of the year for anyone struggling to cope. We make sure people have somewhere to turn and get support when they need it most,” said a spokesperson.

“We work with communities to let people know we’re here for them and we campaign to make suicide prevention a priority. For those suffering emotional distress Samaritans is here for you. We are available 24/7, 365 days a year.
