Monroe’s Live is championing original music with a new night dedicated to the best of emerging talent.

The debut of A New Noise takes place on Saturday, August 2, with three acts: Brad Heidi, Dáwna and Jousca. Doors open at 7.30pm.

Galway’s Brad Heidi is on an upward trajectory, having recently opened for Billy Joel in Hyde Park, London, as well as supporting James Blunt, Lisa Hannigan and Gavin James.

His self-released EP reached number two in the Independent album charts, and his singles ‘Dancing In My Head’ and ‘Nobody But You’ have broken the Top 40 on the Irish radio charts.

With comparison to Ed Sheeran, he has gained recognition from none other than President Michael D Higgins. The singer-songwriter has progressed from busking on the city streets to headlining his solo Irish tour and becoming the overall winner of the ‘A New Local Hero’ award.

He was announced by TikTok as the most followed Irish artist in 2022. With such accolades at an early age, Brad is fast becoming the next Irish singer-songwriter to break through. His determination is such that he left school to follow his passion for music, sharing the stage with the likes of James Blunt, Lucy Blue and Lisa Hannigan. Not only that, but he also played on the coveted main stage at Electric Picnic.

Brad is recognised for his bold energy, independent ethos and genre-defying talent.

Galway native and Tipperary-reared indie, folk and pop artist Conor Fahy, known as Dáwna is scaling new heights on the contemporary music scene.

Named as ‘One to Watch’ by the Irish Times last year, Dáwna’s second, folk-inspired EP, The Swallows , is set for release in October 2025, featuring singles ‘Mo Chailín Mo Chroí’ and ‘Swallows’.

Dáwna has opened for major artists like Gavin James, The Coronas, Hermitage Green, Darren Kiely, The Blizzards, Mundy, Susan O Neill, Ryan Sheridan, Labyrinth and Shawaddywaddy.

From his beginnings as part of folk duo ‘Far Haven’ Conor navigated the start of his musical journey while studying at the University of Galway. As he began to write his own material, he chose the name Dàwna from the Irish word ‘dána’ to mirror his cheeky and brave persona.

Thanks to the power of social media, his audience has grown exponentially, leading to sell-out shows.

Described as having an incredible voice and displaying a maturity beyond his years, his work is already leaving an imprint on those who witness his live performances.

Jousca are a folk band combining traditional influences with a modern edge.

Their sound sits somewhere between folk and indie, with clear nods to the likes of Ben Howard, Lisa Hannigan, Mumford and Sons, Dermot Kennedy and David Keenan with tight harmonies and a focus on storytelling.

Jousca bring a familiar yet fresh sound to the stage. With new music, a debut EP on the way, and a busy run of live dates ahead, they’re a name to watch in the growing wave of Irish folk.
