The standout performances over the weekend came in the Junior Men’s Pair and Four. Oisín Ó Conaire and Paul Schofield claimed the national title in the MJ18 2- on Friday and they were then joined by teammates Eoghan O’Connell, Jack Mannion, and Arthur O’Malley (cox ) to secure victory on Sunday in the MJ18 4+.
The victories come as Schofield, Ó Conaire, O’Connell, and Mannion prepare to represent Ireland on the international stage in the coming weeks. Schofield at the World Championships, Ó Conaire at the Coupe de la Jeunesse, and O’Connell and Mannion at the Home International Regatta.
There were also impressive achievements in the J16 age category for club’s men and women. Coláiste Iognáid won bronze in each of WJ16 8+ (Lauren Ward, Sophie Ryder, Molly Frehill, Aoibhinn Kelly, Grace Faherty, Jacqueline Kennedy, Lola Mae McCormack, Izzy Howley, Líadán Heffernan ) and MJ16 4+ (Leon Hume, Kenneth Little, James Keady, Aidan Clarke, Jim Hearne ).
