The Derg Inn is situated in the centre of Terryglass village on the north shores of Lough Derg, Co Tipperary, it’s the perfect location where exceptional food and a warm Irish welcome waits.
The Derg Inn has been operating in the village of Terryglass for the last sixty years and re-opened after a big renovation project a year ago under the management of Caragh Walsh and Lee Johnson (Head Chef ). The Derg Inn provides beautiful food, using locally-sourced ingredients, at competitive prices to its guests in wonderful interiors that reflect the colour palette of the venue’s surrounding natural environment with bespoke handmade furniture to create a restful and calming atmosphere.
Serving from 10am until late everyday (except Monday ), The Derg Inn offers a range of menus to its guests which change seasonally reflecting local produce and the seasonality of ingredients.
The Derg Shop opens daily from 8am until 8 pm. The shop is stocked with all the essentials required for daily life along with artisan goods produced by local producers for example local honey, baked goods, fresh juices, candles, chutneys and jams. Every morning, the kitchen produces pastries, savoury treats and Guinness brown bread for its customers.
The Derg Inn is a firm favourite both with local residents and visitors to the area. Due to the proximity of Lough Derg, the inn attracts a large boating community and provides a welcome pit stop on their travels along the River Shannon whether it’s for dining or stocking up on groceries for their journey. The Derg Inn’s restaurant can cater for up to 120 guests at any one time, and additionally up to 80 guests can be hosted in the inn’s outdoor Terrace area.
