Galwegians invited to National Day of Commemoration

The Galway ceremony for the National Day of Commemoration will take place within the University of Galway’s Quadrangle, this Sunday, July 13, at 11am.

The Mayor of the City of Galway, Councillor Mike Cubbard, alongside elected members of the city council, will participate in this remembrance ceremony organised by the Defence Forces with the University of Galway. It honours of all Irishmen and Irishwomen who died in past wars, or on service with the United Nations.

The ceremony will be attended by members of the Defence Forces, ex-servicemen’s organisations, religious leaders, community representatives, next-of-kin of those who died in past wars or on UN service, and the general public is welcome.
