Session Americana with Eleanor Buckland

With nine records, a hectic touring schedule across the US and Europe, and a hot ticket residency in Cambridge, Massachusetts, they create the best of Americana in a rowdy but deft fashion.

In October 2003, Session Americana had its first jam around a table back home in Cambridge.

Since then, the group has evolved to become a touring collective, regularly playing at clubs and festivals across North America and Europe.

The Boston-based group’s raucous live shows were initially built around the community concept of a traditional Irish seisiún.

Finely attuned to one another and to their audience, the ultra-gifted, rotating group of singers and multi-instrumentalists live up to their name in every performance.

Swapping instruments, trading lead vocals, and sharing songwriting credits, Session Americana is joined by singer-songwriter, Eleanor Buckland.

She brings her sophisticated and soulful singing to the tour, her folksy drawl complementing the collective.

Join Session Americana at Monroe’s Live on Monday, July 14 from 8pm as part of the Galway International Arts Festival.

Tickets cost €22.50 and are available from www.monroes.ie
