This long-running series began in 1994, and showcases performances from local and international organists.

Series highlights have included orchestral concerts and film screenings with live music. This year’s concerts begin with Dublin organist and improvisor Rónán Murray after Raymond O’Donnell, artistic director of the concert series, gives him a short, well-known musical idea immediately before the concert begins. Murray will create a bespoke work based on that theme.

The series continues on July 10 with a return visit from fabulous soprano and Renmore native Aisling Kenny, who specialises in historical performance. She is joined by British soprano Charlotte O’Hare, accompanied by Rachel Factor on harpsichord, and Raymond O’Donnell on organ. Music will include chant from 12th-century mystic Hildegard of Bingen, duets by Monteverdi, and Handelian arias.

Young South Korean organist Sunkyung Noh plays on July 17. This programme of organ masterpieces includes J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn, César Franck, and Elgar. Sunkyung is a multiple international prizewinner. She will release her debut solo album later this year.

German organists Kai Krakenberg and Christos Theel play on July 24, and July 31, respectively.

Krakenberg presents French and Canadian composers, while Theel focuses on contemporary twentieth and twenty-first century works.

Irish organist Bláithín Cotter concludes this year’s concert series with Baroque masters Buxtehude and Bach on August 7.
