The UachtarARTS Community Group will launch its latest exhibition Lough Corrib, Our Legacy – Ár gCroí, tomorrow, Friday, June 13, at 7:00pm in the Courthouse Gallery, Oughterard.
This event, part of the Oughterard Courthouse Arts Programme summer season, will be opened by Sharon O’Grady, Galway County Council’s Arts Officer.
In collaboration with the Corrib Catchment Partnership, members of Uachtar ARTS attended a presentation titled ‘The Corrib and its Place in our Landscape’ and took to the water with Corrib Cruises to explore Inchagoill for inspiration.
More than 30 artists are participating in the summer season over three main projects.
Blás, from June 27 to July 6, is a lively mother-daughter exhibition by Patricia Byrnes and Niamh Daniels, showcasing paintings and textiles.
The Connacht Call Out runs July 11 to July 20. Celebrating a broad range of perspectives and styles from across the west of Ireland.
Conamara Unconstrained is a solo shwo by Geraldine Ford from July 25 to August 4. Her intuitive and abstract expressions are inspired by Conamara’s landscape.
The Courthouse Gallery opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 10am-5pm, and on Sunday 12– 5pm.
