The boys are back in town. The Galway Baytones are back on stage for their Summer Concert this Saturday, June 7 in St. Nicholas’ Collegiate Church.
Fresh from their recent events hosting Keinchor from Germany and Les Gabiers from France, this time they’re a little closer to home, hosting The Lismorahaun Singers from North Clare. The concert will also feature Galway’s bluegrass maestro, Cesar Benzoni.
Formed in 1999, The Lismorahaun Singers quickly built a reputation for excellence in choral singing, under the baton of founder Archie Simpson. They have performed at various venues in County Clare and in Limerick and Dublin.
They have performed twice in Italy and have hosted visiting choirs from England, Italy and Denmark. In 2024 Peter O’Donohue was appointed Musical Director of the choir. One of the first members of the Lismorahaun Singers (at age 10 ), Peter is also the Musical Director of The Galway Baytones.
The concert starts at 8 p.m. and promises to be a feast of music, in styles ranging from classical to folk to contemporary. Tickets are available from Eventbrite (€15 plus booking fee ) or on the door.
